made of trial and error. Wine is a process,
it is research, love, ambition.

Artisanal wine
tells a story
This story begins in the Abruzzo region, with a family vineyard planted in 1971. It’s a Montepulciano vineyard, a grape with great potential, at the same level with larger and more renowned vines.
This heritage is accompanied by Trebbiano, vinified with Malvasia between the rows, as was once done, and Montepulciano rosé, a tribute to Cerasuolo, grown at the foot of a gully.
Finally, a great personal passion, Syrah, the fruit of travels and legends, meets Montepulciano to give life to something new, with still so much to tell.

The vineyard
it’s care work

Cultivation is an act of love: pruning, removing the leaf, eliminating the damaged grape, in the cold of January as well as in the heat of August.
The grapes are grown with natural methods, without the use of fertilizer, but only plant extracts, sulfur and copper in minimal quantities.
The harvest is manual, with 20kg boxes.
The attention is not paid to productivity, but to the recovery of the old vineyards: the yield is lower, but a much more important heritage is preserved.

the grapes that arrive in the cellar are healty

Fermentation is spontaneous.
There is no filtration or clarification and the settling is only caused by the winter cold.
The intervention is minimal, the approach is artisanal and many of the tools in use are those of the past.
The result is a good, genuine, sincere wine, without defects and in harmony with nature.

wine is made in the vineyard:
when the bunch of grapes arrives in the cellar,
the wine to come is already clear.

I’m Mirko and
I am a winemaker

The oldest memories I have are linked to wine.
As a child, I followed my father into the vineyard and the upside-down box became my ladder to reach the grapes.
In the cellar, secretly from my grandfather, I drank the must from the wooden vat.
Then I studied, travelled, worked as a sommelier, from a trattoria to a starred restaurant, to learn about wine in all its aspects.
